There are 4 days when you can set of fireworks till 1.00am.
1. Chinese New Year
2. Diwali
3. Guy fawkes
4. New year’s eve
Since 2006 there is a legal curfew which means any day apart from those mentioned above you can not set off fireworks after 11.00pm.
It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 years to purchase the fireworks.
It is also illegal for anyone under the age of 18 years to be in possession of fireworks in public place, this is enforceable with onthe spot fine by the police.
Though there is no legal requirement to inform your neighbours it is always polite to tell them about any event where you plan to use fireworks.
The maximum weight limit for a consumer firework is 10Kg.
Always make sure your fireworks are stored in a cool, dry and secure place.
